Riopan® is built around esomeprazole magnesium, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) recognized by the FDA for the treatment of frequent heartburn. Unlike antacids that neutralize stomach acid after symptoms appear, a PPI works upstream — reducing the production of acid at the source. An FDA-recognized proton pump inhibitor for the treatment of frequent heartburn. Adults 18 years of age and older: take one capsule with a glass of water before eating in the morning. Take every day for 14 days. Do not take for more than 14 days or more often than every 4 months unless directed by a doctor.
